Could technology be impacting your health?

Have you considered that your devices could be making you sick?

Interestingly enough, the source of your stress or anxiety could very well be coming from your cellphone, laptop, smart TV or other gadgets.

Maybe you’re just feeling blah about life. Apathy, or feeling indifferent towards anything is also at an all-time high among people. Most definitely, you’re not alone.

You might have seen studies showing that prolonged use of tech devices is bad for your health. These studies often cite the harmful effects of electromagnetic radiation (EMFs) and 5G technology. However, if you’ve been feeling overly stressed or anxious, or just “off” and not well, you don’t really need a study to confirm how you’re feeling.

You know you’re not well. A digital detox could be what you need to begin feeling well, restoring your health and regaining your zest for life.

When you begin to consider how much time we spend glued to our devices, it’s quite astonishing. And really not surprising why we are not feeling well.

How much time are you spending daily on your devices?

Did you know that according to a 2023 study conducted by Reviews.org, Americans are checking their phones on average a 144 times a day?! 75% of Americans check their phone within 10 minutes of waking up. 60% of people are sleeping with their phone. And here’s the shocker: 75% of people are using their phone on the toilet. Well, that’s just yuck.

Given that mobile phones and other devices are having such a huge impact on our mental, emotional and physical health, it’s time to begin doing something about it. If we are not mindful of how much time we are spending on our devices, technology will most definitely begin to affect our overall sense of well-being.

What your mind reads online affects your overall sense of well-being.

Equally important to how much time we are spending online is also what we are consuming.

Without a doubt, we find ourselves, typically unconsciously immersed in social media, news and fake news. Or your go-to escape might be to binge watch shows on Netflix. Very quickly, as our eyeballs begin taking in information, our minds can begin spinning in a certain direction, influencing our thoughts and emotions, how we perceive situation as well as our reaction to them.

It’s a fact that online content has polarized and divided the world like never before.

So, pause and consider what you’re consuming online. Consider how it might be affecting your mental and emotional well-being.

A digital detox can help you heal and feel better.

If you’re feeling scattered or anxious more than normal, a digital detox might be worth trying to see if you feel better.

Now, a digital detox doesn’t mean going without your phone altogether (let’s be real). It’s about limiting your exposure and becoming mindful of what information you’re consuming each day, and for how long.
